MINOR PLANET PHOTOMETRY FROM LEURA AND KINGSGROVE OBSERVATORY

Leura Observatory is located 100km West of Sydney Australia.  Since its inception, the observatory has progressed gradually from a simple manually controlled dome to a recently established remote controlled observatory. Although it is currently requiring 50% human intervention, a fully automation is in the agenda. While the development has been slow , the observatory is performing full time Asteroid light curve observations.

Kingsgrove Observatory is in my backyard. A pier mounted robotic telescope that is easier to manage. When in use, the styrofoam cover is simply flipped open and the telescope/camera powered to start the night's run. With CCDCommander scripting software, multiple targets are possible to be imaged nightly.

My name is Julian Oey. I have been interested in amateur astronomy for as long as I can remember. Its interesting how this hobby can evolve into what it is today.
